Black Timber Apothecary is a small hand-blending operation in the Bozeman valley, Montana. It isn't a registered company. These terms cover this website. The tea itself is sold somewhere else, and that's the first thing worth knowing.
This site doesn't take your money
Every "Buy now" button hands you to our Fourthwall storefront. Fourthwall runs the checkout, takes the payment, prints and ships the gear, and handles returns under their own terms and refund policy. If an order goes wrong, that transaction is between you and Fourthwall, and we'll help you chase it. No payment details ever pass through blacktimberapothecary.com.
Wholesale
Prices quoted on the wholesale page are per package, not per pound, and they're an invitation to talk rather than a binding offer. A wholesale order is confirmed when we reply to your inquiry and agree quantities in writing. We blend in small batches, so availability is genuinely finite and we may say no.
The tea is food, not medicine
Buckshot & Gunpowder is a traditional herbal blend sold as a food. Nothing on this site has been evaluated by the FDA, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. The Journal writes about herbs historically and culturally. Read it as history, not as a treatment plan. Talk to your doctor before drinking it if you're pregnant, nursing, on medication, or managing a condition. The blend contains licorice root, which isn't recommended in quantity for people with high blood pressure.
What's ours and what isn't
The blend name, the writing, the photography we shot ourselves, and the design belong to us. Don't repackage them. The herb photographs we didn't shoot are borrowed under open licenses and credited on the credits page, with each photographer and license named. Those stay under their own licenses, not ours.
The AI part of the story
We've been open that the blend's recipe was developed with AI assistance. That's a flavour story about how the thirteen herbs were chosen to sit together, and it is not a health claim of any kind.
Accuracy and liability
We try to keep prices, ingredients and availability right, and sometimes we'll be wrong. Where the law lets us limit liability, our responsibility for anything arising from using this website is limited to what you paid us for access to it, which is nothing. This doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We'll update this page when the operation changes, and the date below moves with it. Montana law governs these terms.
